Chris has ensured that our core corporate strategies and vision is embedded throughout our processes and promotes an ethos of being an approachable, responsible, and ethical recruiter. He loves sport and is heavily involved in running a golf society that has raised thousands of pounds for St Michaels Hospice and Prostrate Cancer UK.

Kate Sefton

Being a sales director at Abacus means no day is ever the same. I’m either working with the teams in one of our branches helping them to develop new business or spending time on site with our key accounts to ensure we are giving the best service possible. I’ve worked in recruitment since ‘96 and with abacus since 2004, so it’s a massive part of my life. I love it. Weekends with the family, watching my boys play footy followed by a dog walk and a pub stop enroute keeps me sane!

Jason Fuller

Jason joined Abacus in 1995 as a Consultant in our Camberley Office, before moving on to become Branch Manager of our Newbury office. After several years of running the Newbury Office was promoted to a Senior Management role and has since worked across all of our Cost Centres. He has now been our Finance Director for the past 10 years. With 26 years of experience covering both front and back office operations he has an excellent understanding of the recruitment industry. Happily married father of two. A keen guitarist and bad golfer in his spare time.

Peter Johnson

Peter is our joint longest serving member of staff having joined Abacus as far back as 1994!. He is the Operations Director. Peter has extensive knowledge of the Recruitment Industry including the Engineering and Distribution sector. Peter’s commitment to employee engagement, equality and diversity supports corporate values and makes Abacus an employer of choice. If he isn’t working, then Pete will be involved in sport and particularly football in one way or another. He has been involved in grassroots football for over 7 years coaching and managing at local youth level football team, a lifelong Liverpool fan and still get his boots on each week to play the game he loves.

Meet our Branch Managers

Matt joined Abacus in 2015 as a Consultant and was promoted to Branch Manager of our Andover office in 2020. Nothing is too much trouble for Matt. His caring attitude towards his staff and passion for providing an honest service for his clients and candidates has seen the office go from strength to strength. They are regarded as the ‘Go To’ agency in Andover if you are looking for Industrial or Distribution work. Prior to Abacus Matt studied Product Design at University and worked for a year within the Product Design industry.

Matt Houghton

Jaimie originally started at Abacus as a temporary employee aged 19 becoming permanent with us in 2000 and has been with the company since. Over the years Jaimie has worked in our Basingstoke, Camberley and Newbury branches as well as supporting our Accounts department for periods. Promoted to Branch Manager of our Basingstoke office in 2013 - it is now our highest fee producing office! Jamie become a mother in 2011 and away from work loves spending quality time with her son who we are told is a budding golfer!

Scott joined Abacus in 2006 and has been the Branch Manager of our Camberley Branch since 2018. Scott has over 25 years’ experience within the Recruitment Sector and holds MREC certRP certification. A vastly experienced recruiter to support your staffing needs.

Sarah joined Abacus as an Administrator in 2008 working in our Slough Branch. Sarah was promoted to Branch Manager in 2018 and has vast knowledge of her database and the local area in general. Prior to working for Abacus Sarah worked as a Publican in the local Slough area.

Sarah Wright

Sarah joined Abacus via an Apprenticeship scheme in January 2015. We recognised something special in Sarah and she joined as a permanent member of staff after she had successfully passed her Apprenticeship as a Consultant in our Basingstoke branch. Sarah has managed our Salisbury office and is now our Key Account Manager responsible for our largest client - Harrods. Sarah works to extremely high standards which is clear to see in the amazing service she provides her clients and candidates.

Katie joined our fantastic established Newbury office 1st March 2023, Katie is already an integral part of our team. Although Katie is new to High Street Recruitment, her previous role was supporting people back in to work following the impact of the pandemic. Katie joins our already successful Newbury branch and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.
