Business Development and Customer Relationship Manager
Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our clients team.
They supply pre-insulated pipe systems to installers, heating designers and contractors working in the heating and construction sectors. They are a growing, hands-on business looking to build a more proactive, structured approach to sales and customer relationships.
The Role:
The Business Development Manager will be commercially minded to drive new business and strengthen relationships with existing trade customers. This role exists to focus purely on new business development, and growing those accounts already in place.
This is an office-based role: you'll be the proactive voice of the business on the phone and via email, building the kind of trade relationships that turn one-off orders into repeat customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow up outstanding quotes and live opportunities to convert them into orders
Proactively contact existing trade customers to check in, identify upcoming projects, and strengthen relationships
Identify and pursue new business opportunities among installers, heating designers and contractors by phone and email
Develop and manage customer retention initiatives for key accounts
Work with the Managing Director to convert marketing and event-generated leads (e.g. exhibition contacts) into active customers
Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer and opportunity records in Odoo Feed customer and market insight back into the business.
Attributes We're Looking For:
Confident, personable communicator — comfortable cold-calling and building relationships over the phone
Self-motivated and target-driven, able to manage own pipeline of leads and follow-ups Experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development, ideally in construction, trade distribution, or a technical/industrial sector
Comfortable using a CRM/ERP system to track opportunities and customer activity (Odoo experience a plus, not essential)
Some technical aptitude or willingness to learn pipe/heating systems is helpful but full training will be provided
Hours
Full-time (7:30 am-5pm) or part-time considered (e.g. 9am-3pm, school-hours friendly). Please indicate your preferred working pattern when applying.
You will need your own transport due to the remote location.
