Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Warehouse/FLT assistant on behalf of one of our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts, managing materials handling, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure smooth and efficient logistics. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical aptitude to contribute to a dynamic environment. The position is paid and requires a proactive approach to safety and organisation within the warehouse setting.
Part time - Monday to Friday 4/5 hours a day in the afternoon.
Responsibilities
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including checking goods in and out against delivery notes.
- Manage materials handling using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper storage and organisation of stock.
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move goods within the warehouse.
- Conduct basic equipment repairs or report faults promptly to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using warehouse management systems.
- Support warehouse organisation by keeping work areas clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Assist with stock counts, audits, and cycle counts as required.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management systems and materials handling procedures.
- Valid forklift licence (FLT) Counterbalance with demonstrated operational competence.
- Ability to load & unload goods efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking within the warehouse environment.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in stock management.
- Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; relevant training will be provided for suitable candidates.
