Abacus Employment Services are looking for a dedicated and reliable General Labourer to join our client’s metal foundry team in Portway Industrial Estate, Andover. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to start a career in the manufacturing industry.
The Role:
As a General Labourer, you will assist in the preparation of moulds for the casting process. Your key duties will include gluing sleeves onto moulds, making and attaching sand cups, and supporting the casting team with day-to-day tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation of moulds for casting.
- Gluing sleeves onto moulds.
- Making sand cups and attaching them to moulds.
- Supporting the caster with daily tasks.
- Manual handling of moulds and materials.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working area.
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures within the foundry.
Requirements:
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual labour.
- Good attention to detail.
- Reliable and able to follow instructions.
- Previous manufacturing or foundry experience is beneficial but not essential (training can be provided).
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am until 3.30pm
Pay rate: £12.75 per hour
