Abacus Employment Services is currently seeking a reliable Shot Blast Operative to join our client’s production team at their metal foundry based in Portway Industrial Estate, Andover. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a well-established company specializing in aluminium castings.
The Role:
As a Shot Blast Operative, you will be responsible for operating shot blasting machinery to clean and finish castings. You will also play a key role in maintaining a clean and safe working environment, loading and unloading components, and ensuring smooth machine operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating shot blasting machinery to clean and finish castings.
- Loading and unloading components into the shot blasting machine.
- Manual handling of castings throughout the process.
- Monitoring machine operation and reporting any faults.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working area.
- Following all health and safety procedures within the foundry.
Requirements:
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour.
- Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7am until 3.30pm
Pay rate: £12.75 per hour
