Abacus Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established metal foundry in Portway Industrial Estate, Andover, for an experienced Fettling Operative to join their production team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with foundry or manufacturing experience looking for long-term work with the potential to secure a permanent position.
The Role:
You will be responsible for cleaning, trimming, and finishing castings once they have been removed from moulds, ensuring all products meet the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Removing excess sand and metal from castings using hand tools and grinders
- Inspecting castings for defects and ensuring quality standards are met
- Working independently to achieve daily production targets
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Following all health and safety procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience in fettling or a similar manufacturing/foundry role
- Skilled in the use of grinders, hand tools, and finishing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
