Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Press Brake Setter/Operator to join our clients manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components with precision and efficiency.
- Hours of Work- Monday to Thursday 0700 - 1545
- Salary - £14.00 depending on experience
Ideally candidates will have experience with Amada or LVD press Brakes but this is not essential as operating system training will be given.
Equally, if you do not have Press Brake experience but have some experience in mechanics / engineering then we would love to hear from you because training can be provided for the right person.
Responsibilities
- Set up press CNC brake machines by selecting appropriate tooling and adjusting machine parameters based on job specifications.
- Operate press brakes to bend sheet metal accurately according to blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
- Monitor machine operation during production runs, making adjustments as needed to ensure quality and consistency.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and surface quality, utilizing hand tools and basic measuring instruments.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Collaborate with team members in fabrication, welding, grinding, and assembly tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience setting up and operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of sheet metal processes, tooling, and machine controls.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques such as grinding, welding, and assembly is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and basic math calculations for precise bending operations.
- Skilled in using hand tools, measuring devices, and safety equipment effectively.
