Warehouse Manager – Job Description
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing all warehouse operations, including inventory control, staff supervision, safety compliance, and logistics coordination. The role ensures that products are handled, stored, and dispatched efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of goods
- You will also oversee the Transport side of the business dealing with a fleet of four vehicles. Knowledge of Transport would be ideal but not essential as full training will be given
- Manage and supervise warehouse staff/drivers, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks
- Ensure efficient use of space and proper storage methods
- Coordinate with suppliers, transport companies, and internal departments
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations
- Monitor and improve warehouse processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Handle issues related to shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies
- Prepare reports on inventory levels, productivity, and performance
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and inhouse warehouse software
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Working Conditions:
- Typically based in a warehouse environment
- Physical activity may be required (walking, lifting, standing for long periods)
Hours
- Monday to Thursday 0830-1730 / Friday 0830-1630
- Must be flexible to start earlier or finish later
