Our client based in Frimley is looking for a Design Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
Job purpose:
Full responsibility for people, procedures and processes within your department managing motivating and engaging the teams and business targets. Set the example by creating a positive and respectful environment within the team based upcon company values and behaviours.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design team
Responsibility for standard product and made to order specials including technical requirements and compliance standards
Liaising with technical manager regarding new project development
Responsible for design and manufacture
Responsibility for department work instructions and procedures
To work with sales and proposals of new projects to ensure accurate handovers given to design team
Setting up team KPI'S
Attend client meetings when required
Health & Safety requirements
Other duties potentially assigned
Requirements:
Demonstrate design disciplines
A background in manufacturing engineering
Supervisory / people management experience
Desirable:
A knowledge of vessel design codes including PED, ASME, VIII, BS EN 13445 & PD5500
An engineering degree
Experience working with stainless steel & exotic alloys
Working hours are Monday-thursday 8.30-5 & Fridays 8.30-2.30
