Abacus Employment Services are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established metal foundry based in Andover, for a range of Metal Foundry Operative roles. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and growing production team, with long term work and the potential for permanent positions.
Available Roles Include:
- Core Maker
- Fettling Operative
- Knock Out Operative
- Sand Moulder
- Shot Blast Operative
- General Labourers
The Roles:
These are hands on positions within a fast paced manufacturing environment. Successful candidates will be involved in various stages of the casting process, including mould preparation, core making, casting support, finishing, and quality inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating machinery and equipment within the foundry
- Producing sand moulds and cores for casting
- Removing, cleaning, and finishing castings
- Using hand tools, grinders, and specialist equipment
- Supporting production targets and workflow
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Following all health and safety procedures
Requirements:
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable, hardworking, and a team player
- Previous foundry or manufacturing experience is beneficial but not essential – full training is provided for many roles
